But every time I look at those colours they gladden my heart and cheer up my day!
How can these wools not make me smile?
What am I making? Well .. it's a - no wait - will tell you later, sorry :) I was inspired by a picture I saw once and thought - I can do that!
And what's more it involves crochet and felting and sewing. How's that for getting on with the Revolution!
************************
Another of my Revolution edicts was to draw more - I've not sketched for a long time and feel very very rusty so please excuse the wobblyness of it all -
Right - enough chat, got things to do, places to be, sick children to tend to (yup the next one is down with some sort of bug) our house feel like a cottage hospital at the moment with one or the other of us down with some lurgy. Never mind - these are all things that make the rich tapestry of life (yeah right!!)

I absolutely loved your Raid Tan Hill post yesterday, seeing all those gorgeous cars is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteStunning colours in the crochet blocks, I have seen something similar to what you might be making and would love the patience to do the same!
I would also love to be able to draw like that, that really is excellent - rusty?! Nah!!
Oh dear - hope eldest is not getting what you two had. Love the sketch. :>) xx
ReplyDeleteLovely drawing-keep at it!!
ReplyDeletecrochet and felting and sewing, now i'm intrigued ... can't wait to see what you're making.
ReplyDeleteand the drawing ... wow! cats always seem really difficult to capture in any medium (especially photographs!) but you've really captured a personality here :)
get well soon wishes for the little'uns.
mynyddbach - I see you are a fellow funny car lover! Nice one, I followed your link and found 'Jasper' :)
ReplyDeleteJak - we seem to have all got various stages of what ever the lurgy of the season has been - Eldest is quite poorly but is taking ill health in good humour x
gz - why thank you :) Still need practice more though
narkeymarkey - glad I have you intrigued, hope it works out, like I mentioned, I have only seen a picture once so I am winging it really, thanks re: cat sketch, but needs more work :)
You may feel rusty, but WOW you sure don't come across as rusty!! You have stunning talent!! I love your style, how you can see each individual little stroke of the pencil. Fabulous re-start! Now I REALLY can't wait to see more :)
ReplyDeleteSummertime D - thanks for the encouragement! :)
ReplyDeletefantastic sketch you should definitey do more. hope all are well now
ReplyDeleteAngela - thank you - I used to sketch all the time then suddenly I had children, got a job and became sensible (err read boring!!)
ReplyDeletesensible! - you really need to check the meaning in a dictionary. Nor are you boring, just overworked.
ReplyDeleteWonderful sketch, keep at it! Such a sweet kitty face:-)
ReplyDeleteHope little one feels better soon!
artteachergirl - thank you :) my son is getting there, slowly but definitely on the mend - just in time for the weekend (hehehe)
ReplyDeleteDo a drawing a day-even if it only takes 5-10 minutes.
ReplyDeleteWhen my daughter started GNVQ A &D,she had to fill two A4 pages in her drawing book every day.Minimum.
It stood her in good stead.
She is now a graphic designer.Although much of that is done on a Mac, now!
I need to do that too. and get organized!!
A good discipline to have, my only problem is I really get into drawing and find it hard to break off :)
ReplyDeleteMight give it a go though, just to get into the training of regular drawing again
