- Done a load of washing
- made a brew
- hung out said washing
- visited the chickens and the compost heap
- started another load of washing even sorting out the whites to soak in some 'Dolly Blue'
- stoked the fire
- put the kettle on again
- filled the wood basket
- looked at but not yet started washing the breakfast things
- made some toast
- ate said toast
- answered all my email correspondence and even written to a couple of friends that I've not written to for aa-aa-a-ages
- wondered about another cup of tea
- looked at the washing machine to see how near to the end of it's cycle
- hovered near the kettle
- started this pointless waffling list of things I-am-doing instead of what-I-should-be-doing.............
I still have 2 modules left to do for my on-line exam.........I have completed four and am heartily fed up with them. I am doing them because I have to and not because I want to.................
So instead I practice the art of studiously ignoring the ever looming deadline - a personality trait I am gifted with and fully intend on perfecting.
So. I shall leave you with an image in my head, from my life and where I'd rather be............
The islands of Eigg and Rhum from Traigh
I have just found that there is an additional module to do, now it is three (as in 3, as in one more than the original 2 I thought I had to do ................ aaaaaargh!

Oh dear!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photograph - I too would focus on that rather than an online exam ;)
ReplyDeletelovely photo, i have similar ones swimming around my head right now! can't wait for the spring and to get back outside again, to breathe in the sea air ...
ReplyDeletewhen it comes to deadlines, i find the ignore-them-until-the-last-minute approach works best. i work better under pressure and i get so many other things done while i'm procrastinating - sometimes even the ironing looks more appealing than the thing i should be doing!
good luck :)
Procrastinating again - you are really perfecting the art! It takes years of experience ....I know!! I have just read that procrastination and perfectionism often go hand in hand.
ReplyDeleteDid you know there is a web site called Procrastination.com?
It starts with.......we knew you would find us. . . eventually. Welcome to the online safe-haven for procrastinators.
:>) xx
Thank you all for such good support and understanding!! I've managed to knock down another module and about attempt the penultimate one.... wish me luck!!
ReplyDeleteJak - I am SO going to go and look at that web site, once I FINISH THIS LAST EXAM!!
ReplyDeleteI'll not bore you with my list of what I have done today but one of the items was making chocolate fudge brownies for tonight's Knit N Knatter.
ReplyDeleteI too have had to do qualifications for work when I did not want to. I could not procrastinate as it takes me ages to do things and I am not the sort that can summon up a lot of effort as the deadline looms. But then if we were all the same, the world would be boring.
Cracking photo Grommit. I was looking at my boss's digital camera today and thinking about taking the plunge.....
Thank you dear L.L. - procrastination in my eyes is the highest art form, especially when day dreaming is an option! However, I do work well during the 11th hour but I am sure it doesn't do good to my stress levels, see you later tonight with chocolate fudge brownies - yum yum!
