Been rather ill - in fact very ill.
Got dem festive time flu's - in a big way - but hey! I'm back - albeit I lost some days (bad) and some weight (good) and I am still as limp as a two week old shop bought lettuce.
Thank you for all your 'get better' messages, I may not have responded at the time, but believe me I was very touched - thank you.
Any hoo - to get the blog ball rolling I thought I write myself my New Year's Revolutions list (yes you read right - REVOLUTIONS!!)
- Crochet more - try to complete at least one item every two weeks
- Sew much more - attempt braver projects and keep on improving my hand sewing
- Blog about #1 and #2 on a regular basis
- Attempt more 'How-To' posts
- Continue or rather restart my 52 New Things Not Cooked Before - I know I didn't reach the full 52 last year so would like 2011 be the year to try again - Colouritgreen is also up for it - are you? C'mon join us - it isn't as hard as it sounds
- Continue revamping the house - the bathroom was a good start
- Sow more seeds, take more cuttings, plant more flowers
- Pick more fresh flowers from the garden for the house
- Grow more of our own vegetables - have had variable success over the last few years - partly down to the weather and partly down to me
- Walk more, ride more
- Go to Copenhagen with the bicycles
- Complete my work-based coursework
- Start a new course - a craft one - for me
- Learn an instrument - I started one a couple of years ago and was made to feel rather inadequate by the music teacher - I turned tail and ran. But now I have been given contact details of some one who sounds a lot more understanding - they need to be - I can't read music.......
- Draw and paint. Like I used to. Life just seemed to get in the way.
- Find myself and reconnect with the earth - I feel to have lost that connection over the last year, I know why and know I need to fix it
- Become greener.
A short list (snort...) but aim high and then nose dive - a good policy that has kept me going all through life hehehe!
And you? What have you got planned?
Happy New Year to you all,
including those anonymous bloggers who dip into my day and leave silently
- I thank you for participating in a slice of my life
It is a new year - let it begin!

Welcome back - we have missed your cheery blogs! Glad you are on the mend at last. We will all keep an eye on your 'revolutions'. You are in for a busy year! :>) xx
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you're feeling better. I love that you are getting back to drawing and painting. I use to do the same and loved it. I've even purchased the canvases, but they just sit there. I've got a very bad habit of thinking that EVERYTHING must be in complete good order before I allow myself the luxury of crafting. Also -- you seem like one of the most "connected" people I know. Girl, if you are disconnected, then I'm in real trouble. However, I greatly admire your list of reVolutions. I've not made a list and wouldn't know where to start...perhaps #1 on my list would be to take stronger anti-depressants :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you're feeling better but I hope you continue to take it rather easy for a while.
ReplyDeleteWhat am I planning for 2011? Oh, you know, this and that, not much planned really.
Glad you're back!
ReplyDeleteSarah

Happy New Year, and glad to hear you are feeling better!
ReplyDeleteGreat list! If I have a house (and yard) again one day, my list will mirror yours me thinks.
You should definitely post some more of your artwork (or snippets of) too! I'm liking what I see so far! :) It's something I'm really trying to get back into as well.
As for plans plans, I am going to Germany in April to visit some friends, and do a little sight seeing. Sooooo excited!!
So glad you are better! I'll have to remember your two week old shop bought lettuce description...very good one.:-)
ReplyDeleteDo get back to your drawing and painting...would love to see some of your work!!
Take care of you! Vicki
Summertime D - thank you :) Don't forget to take your camera when you come over to Europe!!
ReplyDeleteVicki - thank you :) Hope to post pictures of drawings etc as an incentive to get on and finish what I have started.
glad to hear you're feeling better :) we were floored by flu in september and it is so not nice!
ReplyDeleteah, the new year, new beginnings and a whole 12 months full of potential! quite exciting really :)
cycling in copenhagen looks fab! i thought i was doing well trying to go for 12 new things i haven't cooked before but 52? good on you :)
the part about reconnecting with yourself and the earth also struck a chord with me too as i kind of lost my way a bit last year and really want to strive for that connection again this year.
wishing you all the best for a wonderful 2011 :)x
glad you are getting better - wishing lots of becoming totally yourself vibes for the new year :)
ReplyDeleteNarkeymarkey - thank you and my sympathies for September! doing 52 new recipes isn't as bad as it sounds, it's only one a week!! Join us!
