Now for today's heart
Last June as we walked through the woodlands around Kyloe Hills in Northumberland we came across a forestry shelter perched on the edge of a steeply wooded gulley. It was a steaming hot day and we decided to sit for a breather and have our lunch. We hadn't been sitting long when Eldest spotted some graffiti scraped into the rocks below and shot down into the the gulley for a closer look. Triumphantly he scrambled back, insisting I grab my camera and follow him. It was a rather tricky descent but worth it when he showed me this:
Balancing carefully on tumbled rock and tree root I took the photograph of the scraped heart. As I wobbled back round to regain ground I looked up and thought that the view of the forestry shelter and two of my boys looked rather good so quickly took another picture. Eldest and I scrambled back up, dusty and scratched but seriously chuffed with ourselves! What we did wonder about was how on earth the loved up graffiti artist managed to get to the rocks on the other side of the gulley to proclaim his devotion!!
I will be doing a second posting later today - Yarnival updates and crochet news!!
See you there :)

ReplyDeleteWhat a peaceful place; I think I could live there, provided there was enough room for balls of yarn....
