Today's heart(s)
are brought to you
by the shop keepers
from a couple of towns we have visited this weekend
There were so many different ones that I have only selected a few...
ranging from the delicately-cut-paper hearts
from the arty gallery-come-card shop
To the put-everything-we've-got-with hearts-on approach
in the shop that does stock everything
There was the huge-sticker-on-the-window variety
with the
suspended-from-the-ceiling hearts
and the handmade-prettily-textured-paper-hearts,
the stuffed-fabric-hearts,
and the heart-embellished-cushions
chucked in for good measure

The simple'cut-out-of-red-folded-in-half-paper' hearts
favoured by the health food shop

And the one the boys loved the most
The let's-go-for'the-cutest-hearts' style
by a very popular cafe
How could you resist?
My favourites?
Well sadly I couldn't get a good picture as the shop didn't have any lights on, but my heart was for the village hardware store with the oddest shaped hearts haphazardly stuck on to the window with a bright blue sticky gum (on the window side)
Each heart had a crease down the center
but each heart was definitely not symmetrical
I love that window the best
because of all of the windows I saw
this one had no illusions of grandeur
no glitz or glamour
it was just being
seasonal
!

As I mentioned yesterday, we had been stuck indoors due to the weather and at the last minute, before it got too dark, we managed to escape. We went up into the Dales and actually did a bit of caching in the dark (great fun!) Later as we sat in the rain soaked car we decided that actually, we hadn't had that bad a weekend after all :)
And to keep you up to date with our arty heart happenings....follow here to see what Youngest made for me on this date last year.
I am loving doing my heart themed month - I hope you are them enjoying it too :)
Right must stop chatting, am half way through a new project and I want to get back to it.....sshhhhhhh....not going to tell you {*yet*}!! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

A lovely selection of shop windows - loved the lacy paper ones but best for me are the sheep saying I love ewe! :>) xx
ReplyDeleteI love the lacy paper ones best.
ReplyDeleteJak and Angela - the lacy paper cut hearts were beautiful, but for cute value the sheep won it cloven hooves down!
ReplyDeleteI love ewe too!!!!
ReplyDeleteYears ago I bought my beloved a birthday card for him that said Happy Birthday to Ewe. He accepted it and put it down. I liked it so much I read it aloud as Happy Birthday to Eee-wee.... now I knew the card was funny but I could not see why until my pronunciation was corrected. Since then, in our house, ewes are eee-wees....
I love all the different shopkeepers how they decorate their windows, good fun stuff
ReplyDeleteSarah
Lovely Lady - lol!! In our house ee-wees have a different meaning! Will explain some time :)
ReplyDeleteSarah - yes must admit that this time of the year it is a bit quiet so to have decorated windows is fun.
