Today's heart
is brought to you
by scatterings of drift wood left by the sea.
I love the feel of sea sculpted shapes of wood,
so tactile, so textured, so beautiful.
Each small piece tumbled to soap like shapes, the rings and knots forming decorative blemishes and tattoos.
Small drill holes made by sea creatures, made by man.
Salty infused, sand encrusted, organic.

ReplyDeleteNicely done. The mere sight of the the thing had me back at Montauk; I smelled the sea and heard the seagulls. A lovely tiny vacation in the midst of the ice.
