Well, this walk certainly had me pondering these little quandaries - that and thinking dark thoughts at our walk leader (who I do dearly love but occasionally wish for a more gentle pursuit of the great outdoors on days like these...)
Yes we are standing on the footpath .....
I had rain running down my nose when I took this picture. It hadn't started out this wet I have to admit, it was quite cool and cloudy and we were well wrapped up but from out of nowhere (well ok, the clouds) came this torrential rain!
We were up in the hills and it was beautiful wild scenery with mysterious lochs and brooding rocks.
The boys, in particular Eldest absolutely loved the wildness of it all, he strode out ahead, shouldering his haversack while I struggled with my stupid knee.
We sheltered in the lee of a stone wall for a much wanted tea and managed to eat our lunch before it was dissolved by the rain.
Time to return to the car - head back to the carry-van to dry off and have a steaming pot of tea and cake - yum!
My sentiments entirely. I'm feeling rusty just sitting here on washing line alert just incase my towels blow off the line and yonder!
ReplyDeleteAmazingly no rain here to day, as yet, but so so windy!
Oh the non-stop rain. It is persistent. I think I am to blame as I bought some barbecue charcoal the other week (Him indoors instructed me to do so) and since then it has rained and rained and rained. I am thinking of painting myself in Waxoyl to keep the rust at bay...... At least I can enjoy your walks from my dry PC!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your adventure, the scenery was so beautiful and wild. Love your photos, stay warm and dry.
ReplyDeleteWhen the most waterproof family I know begins to feel a bit damp and rusty, then it really is time for the rain to stop!! :>) xx
