I'm so glad you popped in, I'll put the kettle on and you grab yourself a chair - a good a time as any to stop for a brew. Enjoy...

Holiday musing..............1

There is a steady pattering sound on the roof, streaks have formed on the windows and the distant views have been veiled in grey. Sheep huddle against walls and there is no bird song.

Wintry rain can be very suppressing - if you let it.......
A good antidote to such weather is a noisy game.

The tension, the giggles,
the teetering and the tottering.
The tactical subtraction of a key piece
then the bated breath anticipation of the fall
and when the rickety tower reaches the point of no return -
the subsequent crashing and shrieking of laughter or howls of defeat.
Excellent!

And noisy.

Thank you every one who sent birthday wishes to Eldest, he was quite touched and quietly pleased.

I am proud of him, as is his Dad, for he has grown into a gentle (unless you are speaking to his lil brov) thoughtful person with a quick humour and a slow temper. He is loving and kind and occasionally (ok - more frequently) learning to be a teenage slob. He devours books and disregards food.  He wears a cheeky grin beneath a huge floppy fringe and wears the same clothes all week with pride           (sigh)

Well, must go now, there is knit and natter here tonight and I need to whizzzzz around with the vacuum cleaner,  speak soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  1. What is it about kids and noisy games? I remember my sis and I just loving Ker-plunk as kids and yet mum seemed less than keen on us playing it......wonder why!

  2. Ooo just read that you and eldest were born in SA....my Dad has lived there for many years so I have been over several times. My niece lives there too now after marrying a SA guy. The first member of the family to be born in SA arrived a couple of weeks ago! I absolutely love the place. My boy and I had a fantastic holiday a couple of years ago driving down from Durban to Plettenberg and stopping off en route to spend a few days on the Wild Coast. Wonderful x

  3. Andrea - I know exactly what you mean, every time the blocks fell, my ears went back like a cat's! But as a child I loved noisy games - like kerplunk!!
