The food is sorted - I have........... well sort of............. umm............ sorted it, well, I've thought about it........The house needs tidying and decorating, the list goes on.
When's all this for? Saturday.....day after Friday, which is the day after Thursday, which is tomorrow.... and in those few days I have a knit and natter evening, a bonfire party to go to (only just received confirmation this morning that it is going ahead!), shopping and cooking for the party and - oh yes - and still go to go to work............ something has just got to give - hmmm, me thinks it will be work! Now why didn't I think of that earlier :)

The multicoloured jolly throw has finally gone to his new home. He seemed to be well received as he was stroked and patted and hugged. I took a few last photos of the blankie as he posed on the settee and then by the fire just before he said his last good byes.
The blankie showing his best side, or is this his best side?
Last cosy look as he waits to be taken to his new home.
I have just realised I have given this blanket a gender..................good grief - is this normal??
Actually most of our inanimate objects have a gender or a name, it just looks strange now I've see it written down!
Oh well.
(shrugs shoulders, if other folk have realised I am odd, surely it is time I accepted that I am!)

Just remembered that I was going to henna tattoo my hands and feet - now where did I put that henna kit?

I've just stared and stared at that blankie. It's beautiful, absolutely beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSome years ago, I had a work do to go to which had a Bollywood theme. When I told my sisters I was duly carted off to Southall to find a suitable sari to wear, which I bought (at vast expense, I have to say). I was also kitted out with henna, dangly bright gold earrings and bangles galore which were bought by the weight (and all the glitter came off within an hour). We had a lovely afternoon musing through all the shops and it was a good evening. Hope yours is too.
Thank you Thursday, I also tried to buy/hire a sari and was told by a very helpful asian lady that it would be expensive and she would lend me a salwar kameez and a Dr I work will has lent me bangles for the evening to - so I am set to sparkle - bollywood style!
ReplyDeletethe blanket is wonderful and I don't think giving it a gender is odd - does that make me odd? The ribbon is a great touch.
ReplyDeleteWish I'd thought on as I have a sari you could have borrowed. Lunch next week? then I can return all your bunting. Please post lots of picks of the party costumes.
The event you are having sounds so wonderful!
ReplyDeleteAs for giving your beautiful blanket a gender...that's normal! Or I think it is. My Aunt Lessie knitted me a blanket and we call it Lessie. Who's to say what's normal? Have fun on Saturday!!
Angela - phew, so I am not so odd, must get husband to agree to this, however, suspect he thinks all crafty people are odd!
ReplyDeleteArtteachergirl - another odd crafty person! Brilliant - there is more and more of us!
I fully intend to take loads of pictures and have an excellent weekend, will report back in full once I have recovered X
lol, I give all inanimate objects names and genders! So I don't find it odd one bit :)I'm sure he'll love his new home! hehe
ReplyDeleteKat Lantz - this is getting better and better, the more of us oddballs giving inanimate items terms of affection and gender - the better!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad I found your blog through the Made in K-Town link party. Your blankets are so beautiful!
