Today I met up with my friend Angela for lunch in Skipton. We have a favourite cafe' were we meet and talk and eat and laugh. And today was no exception - in fact, today, we laughed so much that we were wiping tears away. We were comparing our last summer holidays, both taken around the same time and in the same dreadful weather. She had me in stitches about a bicycle ride in the rain with trousers that go see-through when wet and I regaled to her our tent collapse. With hindsight and laughter, these holidays were no longer being remembered as ordeals, but as funny experiences to be shared.
That's what I love about Angela - she see life as a glass half full and with a shrug of her shoulders and a toss of her red hair (yes another one!) she gets on with life. When we were saying our goodbyes I realised that she gave me more that a couple of hours of good company - she made me laugh and I feel so much better for it!
