New Year's Eve.
A quietly shared family evening.
Not your usual frivolities or noisy antics.
We were marking another, more personal, anniversary.
Tomorrow will be a year since my Gran died.
We shared food and drink.
We ate and we talked.
We watched a film,
whilst my Mom, fav-sis-in-law and I knitted and knattered.
The boys were draped on the floor with the cats
as they all stretched out in front of the fire.
It wasn't an outwardly emotionally sad evening,
more of an evening of togetherness.

Well, there is still time is to eat a few more.
so won't reveal just yet.

survivors from himself's last baking session.
