After the excesses of the last couple of days,we decided to throw off the festive slothfulness and go for a walk.
The snow ,has begun to thaw
so, in places,
we had to wade through slushy puddles and ford swollen streams.
The sky was a brilliant blue
as we went over the tops to Wycoller , our neighbouring village.
The boys had taken their sledges so himself pulled them along the lanes. The boys were delighted and the games they had as they went along were noisy and happy.

On the far side of the village, we stopped and took pictures at the Panopticon.
There was hardly anyone around.
We watched as the sun began to disappear behind the horizon, before we started our way home.
We came back by moonlight as the thaw began to re-freeze hard again.
***********************
The boys have defrosted,
we have eaten,
Himself has been baking.
Another lovely day.
