But all that seems a bit frivolous.
Lily - wonderful, beautiful precious Lily is no longer. And we don't know where or why. We hear rumours in the village about cats going missing. The more posters we have put up and the more people we have spoken to, the more we hear about other cats disappearing.
Most stories have the same alleged ending.
The same name keeps coming up.
The same man .... and his gun.
I am running out of ways to comfort my boys and to shelter them from the possible way their precious cat was taken from them.

aka Lily Purkins, the pompom of doom, bogbrush tail, Tiger Lily

You are missed and were dearly loved.
So sorry to hear about Lily, is it possible there might be a different outcome?
ReplyDeleteCan anything at all be taken to the police, even if it is only hearsay? Can the local press get involved in some way?
Sorry about all the questions, this is a sad time for you and I don't mean to intrude.
Love to you

I'm so sorry about your lovely Lily, we have several of our pets that have gone to Heaven planted in our flower beds. Meg our darling Cavalier, Herman our rescue kitty, Fiddle our canary, Dotty and Buffy or two pet chickens. My heart goes out to you and your family, and hope they catch the creep who did this!
ReplyDeleteI'm so very sorry to hear this.....horrible to think how she was taken from you.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter went through the same with her cat Mario....and others went missing too and the response she got after hunting high and low was the circus was in town....when its in town pets disappear! Some would find it funny...we didn't Mario never returned and was not seen again. He was such a gentle puss...my daughter still misses him.
My mother's cat was shut in a garage for well over s week and she thought he'd was gone for good....but he was rescued...bless him. Could that be a possibility?

Hawthorn:have been reading the other posts and getting a bit sadder as I read.... you are probably doing this but in case can I suggest people check in sheds and huts or other such places....cats get stuck in places sometimes ......they are so curious. Hopefully it is not as you suspect.

It's never pleasant to lose a pet and this is a horrible way to lose her. xx
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry. I read this whilst at work last night but it wouldn't let me publish a comment. Why are people so cruel.
ReplyDeleteThinking of you xx
So, so sad and shocking. I'm so, so sorry.
ReplyDeleteDear Hawthorn and family - I have been hopeful that this post would not appear but ... My thoughts are with you all and also the hope that Lily (with the most fluffy tail I have ever seen) will come home. I'll keep looking and listening.
ReplyDeleteDear Lovely Lady - I received your kind comments and - thank you so much for them, then pressed delete instead of publish - sorry. Mind was elsewhere xx
ReplyDeleteI am so so sorry for your loss. She will be with dear little Holly now. Their lives were short but they were both very loved. I don't know either how you cope with the children's pain and I despair that you should have to find out. I know things like this happen and men like this exist but I will never understand why. Please keep little Pan safe, even if that means keeping her indoors. I believe in freedom for animals to live their lives unconfined but sometimes their safety is more important. I feel so sad for you, the circumstances must be so awful for you to process and the shock just horrible.
ReplyDeleteI am thinking of you, my cats are very dear to me and I understand how much your little ones were loved. Rest in peace dear little Ivy xxx.
I hope that she comes back and hasn't met with such a sad end. I feel for you and your family, when I was a child we had a cat that suddenly disappeared, my Mum always suspected our neighbour but never could proved it, a difficult situation.
ReplyDeleteAnother thought, if others in your area have lost cats and name the same person have you thought of contacting the RSPCA to see if they have a file on him, they may be collating evidence, you never know!
ReplyDeleteI am so, so sorry! Breaks my heart for you and your family! Animals like Lily bring such joy, it's a shame to not know her whereabouts. Perhaps she will still turn up...cats have a way of waltzing in when you think all is lost. I'm praying she's close by. Best, Vicki
ReplyDeleteI too live in hope that she will return home....but the longer she is missing the harder it is to keep up that hope. Like LL, I will always remember that wonderful fluffy tail. I know how dear she was to you all and how much she will be missed. xx
ReplyDeleteOh dear, this is such sad news!!! I am thinking of you and your family during this sad time.
