If I have to do it, if it needs doing, it remains undone as I am distracted by things frivolous and unimportant.
It is damp and grey outside and I need to get the washing done.... so I light the fire to warm the house and to warm me, but still avoid collecting up the washing.
Instead I hold the cat, look out of the window, stand by a crackling fire, blog.
If those were on my have-to-do list, I'd probably avoid them too. Mind you, the cat is in the mood for being held and would just climb up my leg and settle herself on my shoulder regardless of what I was doing.
I am distracted by the thought that this year is almost through and I feel to have achieved very little.
I must check my list but walk determinedly passed it as I know for every one thing I cross off with a flourish, two or three more items need to be added.
So I cheer myself up with the thought of a mug of tea and fondly look at some holiday photos.
Ooh ho! Better already -besides it's Friday today and that means the weekend is almost here! Woo hoo :)

ReplyDeleteYes to all the above... well perhaps not homework as in school homework, but do have lots of work to do at home, if that counts!! I'm procrastinating too, should be going to bed!! xx
ReplyDeleteWell you certainly have good company with procrastination. My worst is housework--especially cleaning the bathroom. Some times it is nice to go to work because it means I can leave the cleaning that bit longer. Ha! Blogging is much more fun, and really, the dirt isn't going anywhere.
ReplyDeletethe housee needs cleaning, the garden is a jungle and the bathroom is in deperate needd of painting and I have 2 exhibitions coming up but instead I'm going to go for a walk :-) oh, nd I don't feel guilty
ReplyDeleteIt's great to see that you had such nice holidays :-). My favorite pic is the first one, lovely these colorful beach huts! Oh and I'm very good in procrastinating housework, too ;-). My kitchen is a mess at the moment, but I'm sure I will clear that all tomorrow morning because we get visitors tomorrow afternoon ;-))
ReplyDeleteI adore that first picture of the beach huts!!! Color always grabs me, and the perspective in it is wonderful...a bit playful. Because of my health issues right now I am doing whatever I want and feel like doing!!! No guilt at all!! Housework, school work and garden work will still be there...rather blog, play around with my art, enjoy family and friends, and honestly sleep:-) I'm so glad you had that wonderful holiday!
